On Sunday morning it is our responsibility to make sure we leave the site as clean as we found it. All players are required to clean their own cabins, kitchen messes & dishes. In cabins: trash bins must be emptied in the large bins behind the taverns, all windows must be CLOSED and floors swept. You can earn Feather Points by helping to clean communal spaces like the bathrooms and taverns! Find the Clean Up Coordinator (Shy Dotson) to see how you can help, and so she can check off that your cabin is clean.

Below is our prelude for the event, written by the ever-eloquent Michael Hoff!

"𝙏𝙄𝘿𝙀𝙎 𝙊𝙁 𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙉𝙂𝙀" - GAME PRELUDE

“𝘞𝘦 𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘴𝘩, 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩.”

-𝘜𝘯𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘷𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘝𝘦𝘺𝘷𝘦𝘶𝘹

It is the 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 of the 𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 After Fire.

The recent past lingers over New Haven like a storm cloud. The Forest Fae is gone. Unknown forces drove cultist and vile allies to hunt down and destroy spirits of the forest. Many were saved, but not all. The Forest Fae herself drifted into New Haven holding her own heart. In order to stem the tide of destruction, wrought by an unknown malice against the forest, by sacrificing her corporeal form and returning her to the spiritual plane. But this has only bought time, not balance. The scars of the spirit lost and the Fae’s absence are evident in lone trees shedding leaves in the heat of summer, single flowers within a garden that wilt suddenly with decay. All ill omens, and reminders that doom has not been truly diverted.

Elsewhere in the natural world the seas turn treacherous. Sailors speak of whirlpools that form without warning, swallowing ships whole. Storms that form within mere moments from clear skies and stir up waves that crash over railings. And while the sea normally keeps those it claims jealously, now many claim to have seen the drowned crawling back to the sands by some unseen will.

It is no wonder the fleets of Veyveux hurriedly make landfall as the great task of settling their population begins. The coming of Veyveux means a new power has washed up on the shore of this land. One that can tip the scale of the war once it’s Sovereign, known as the Dauphin decides what course to set for their people. New Haven finds itself once more the crossroads of many travelers. The Dauphin will hold a Masquerade Ball in the town as a way of establishing relations with the locals. A night of masked faces and intrigue that may hold more weight than a mere party.

The war the Veyvinians will find themselves immersed in within the Exile Lands continues. Sentinel’s Reach still lies within the hands of the Drow. And the South of New Haven the lands are more and more overrun by forces that operate from it. Commander Toross of the Fallen Sword has been recovered. One more boon in the growing efforts that gather material, people and momentum to retake what is loss. This sadly seems counterbalanced by the revelation that the Drow seem to have new common ground with the Lord of Blood, as Norraht have been spotted among Drow forces.

But these are all the ebbing tides of the natural world, and the wars of mortals. The danger of the land goes far beyond the senses of those that bleed and breathe. Flora and Fauna long since recorded as extinct have been sighted across the land, as if in violation of time itself. Navigators find stars out of place as they plot courses, only for them to return to their proper place. The wind carries voices that can be heard but not understood. The cracks in the world are beginning to show.

And the tides of change rise higher and higher.
