MEET THE TEAM
About Our Team

Since its inception, the cornerstone of Lands of Exile has been our community. We have different teams that work as wagon wheels that keep the caravan moving, which are shown below. Our Plot Staff are a team of dedicated staff members for the game, who work to create the stories, lore, and experience that you have at LoE as as whole. Our player volunteer teams use their unique skills to assist facets of the game and plot staff, and include our Marshals, Contributors, and Discord Team.

PLOT TEAM

Emil Foose
Game Owner
Director
They/Them/She/Her

Emil has been LARPing for just shy of a decade, and has run several different genres and styles of LARP. When Emil began playing Lands of Exile during the 2014 playtests, they immediately fell in love with the story, style, and tight-knit community that is the foundation of LoE. They joined plot in 2016, were the Head of Plot for 2017-2019, and became the Director and Owner in 2019 with Blue Heron Productions. They love cats, intense role-play, and creating story experiences for heroes, villains, and every character in between.

Noah Alderman
Game Master of Tennessee Chapter
He/Him

Noah has been playing and running tabletop RPGs for over 20 years, done miniature wargaming for more than a decade, and joined the LARP world in 2018 via LoE. Once he found his feet, he fell in love with the community, the game, and the world as a whole. Noah assumed the mantle of Head of Plot for the Tennessee chapter of LoE in 2020. He strives to create an experience that makes players feel like they are true heroes, and loves to work with people to help tell the stories that they want to tell within the greater world. In his spare time he enjoys storytelling in all facets - playing tabletop and video games, and watching movies while petting his dog at home.

Logan Dawson
Writer
NPC Crew
NPC Designer
He/Him
Logan started LARPing at Lands of Exile in its second year. He had played tabletop roleplaying games and was great at imagining up characters to play while bored at home. He likes to challenge people's moral code, and pit their brain against their heart. He also likes to stretch his abilities as to how he plays his NPCs; Logan plays these characters with consistency because his primary concern is player enjoyment. He also enjoys playing many of the big scary things found at Lands of Exile. In his daily life he enjoys scary things, doggos, epic poems, and chicken sandwiches.

James Rose
Full Time Writer
Photographer
Propmaker
NPC Crew
He/Him
James joined LoE as a player in September of 2016, and October 2017 was his first full game as a plot member. He enjoys creating costumes and characters and playing creepy monstrous type foes. He looks forward to pulling on heart strings and increasing the scary factor in upcoming games!

Claire Wilshire
Game Founder
Game Designer

Claire has been a roleplaying organizer and enthusiast for over a decade and a half. As both a successful business owner of her own company and an award winning thespian, she brings a bright passion and enthusiasm for crafting unique experiences for players to the table.

Drew Collins
Head of Rules & Development
Writer
NPC Crew
He/Him

Drew is the plot team doggo, and enjoys large scale battles, lore development and playing over-the-top characters (many of whom are more makeup than man). He's been LARPing with LoE since its inception.

Jen Pan
Webmaster
She/Her

Jen joined plot in May of 2016. Costumer and crafter for her whole life, Jen fell in love with LARPing at Lands of Exile game 2. Drawn to the high level of immersion and costuming, she was allowed to let her creativity fly as a player, which is extremely important to her in a game. After 1.5 years as a PC, she realized her true passion at LARP was creating story for others through propmaking, NPCing, and mod writing. Jen also enjoys most creative hobbies, sciencing, insect Druidry, and learning new things about herself through LARPing.

Jeroen Stone
Lore Developer
Writer
Immersion Specialist
NPC Crew
He/Him

Jeroen wants the players to be able to feel their experience, rather than merely seeing and hearing it, and loves working with a team that creates that very thing. He has been LARPing for over 7 years now and playing multiple characters with varying quirks and personalities helps him to understand himself as well as create an environment for the player that not only seems believable, but wondrous at the same time.
Alright, enough with the mushy stuff. He likes motorcycles, blacksmithing, armor, and shield walls.

Austin Buysse
Writer
NPC Crew
Head of Transport
He/Him

At the end of the 2017 season, Austin transitioned to full time NPC, and joined the plot team as a writer in 2018. Austin started at LoE during the 2014 playtests and fell in love with the community as soon as he got there. He realized he thrived the most when it came to helping drive the story and delivering wonderful spooks for the players. He loves field battles, creepy monsters, cats, and anything that gets the adrenaline rushing.

Thomas Betts
Game Founder
Game Designer

Thomas loves to play the people everyone hates, armor, fighting, and long walks on the beach. He’s been LARPing since 2005, but roleplaying since he was 8.

Elizabeth "Ellie" Banks
Game Master
Head of Plot
She/Her/They/Them

While she is in fact the human equivalent of a cinnamon bun, Ellie has the tendency to run face first into whatever opportunities come her way! Starting as an NPC, she unlocked the plot team achievement in the Fall of 2016. A Principal in Ohio most of the year, she travels to North Carolina 6 weekends (or more) a year to live her best life. In her spare time, she enjoys cats, creating FAR too many NPCs, hawks, teaching through LARP, communicating in terrible puns, and trying her best.

Justin "Kenji"
NC Chapter Rulesmaster
Writer
NPC Crew
He/Him

Kenji is actually a cat piloting a human mech, and enjoys stealth, mischief, sandwiches, and really enjoys seeing the players have a good time. He has been LARPing for a bit over 15 years now, and is still amazed with the creativity of players every time he returns.

Michael Truit
Writer
NPC Crew
He/Him

Michael joined LoE as a player in September of 2018, and had his first game as a plot member in Fall of 2019. He's been GMing for tabletop roleplaying games through highschool, always doing his most to make every encounter and story memorable and totally immersing players in the experience. He enjoys writing, fencing, and blacksmithing.

Iain Ramsay
Writer
NPC Crew
He/Him

Iain started his foray into gaming with miniature wargames, and slightly later dove headfirst into the world of RPGs. He spent time on the west coast running games in the convention circuit, and was always active within the gaming community and industry. Lands of Exile is his first LARP, where he started as a PC and later transferred to full time NPC. He was interested in creating an experience for players and joined plot late in the 2018 season.
MARSHALS & CONTRIBUTORS

Jordan Mullaney
New Player Marshal
Rules Development Crew
Rules Marshal
She/Her

Jordan discovered her love of larping in 2015, when she joined LoE as a player. She adores the blend of costuming, theatre, improvisation, writing and hitting-people-with-swords that larping provides. When not singing to forest animals or weaving flowers into her hair, Jordan finds joy in dumping advice onto new players or screaming at obscenities while rolling around in a mound of dirt #fortheaesthetic.

Eric Marsh is a special education teacher in North Carolina. Apart from actively teaching, his background includes curriculum design, IT support, and game art.

Scott particularly enjoys giving new players an experience that will leave them with a love of LARP and LOE for years to come.

Mike Hoff

He/Him

Hoff just got started with LARPing these last few years with Lands of Exile as his first and primary game. Before that everything was dice based, and that's how he rolled. He worked for a game company for years running events, then kept doing it in his spare time at conventions and home games. He loves good storytelling, character development and the full immersion this medium provides.
